Shan D started his DJ’ing career way back in 1993 as a mobile DJ. His first ever gig was his cousin’s 16th Birthday, where he played using two cassette players like most of the other DJ’s did back then. In 1999 he got into radio where he hosted two weekend shows. By 2000 he managed to take his DJ’ing skills to another level by getting into the club scene. His first club gig was in Melbourne in a club called “Salt” where he rocked it for over 2000 clubbers. His skills behind the decks gave him the opportunity to build himself a name in the club scene in Melbourne as a Hip Hop/R&B DJ. He also managed to hold quite a few residencies in some of the biggest clubs in Melbourne.
“There are two types of DJs in the world today,” Shan says. “Turntablists and those who rock clubs”. There’s no doubt that it’s because of his skills behind the wheels of steel and his ability to make the crowds go wild, that he’s widely known as a unique combination of both .
