Being a keen enthusiast in listening, collecting music and Djing whilst in school as a hobby and inspired by a very popular Dj from Bahrain in the early 80’s made me persuade this as a part time job which has eventually turned into a business. As the sole proprietor of a recognized entertainment company known as GOOD GROOVE, I have personally trained & inspired many Dj’s to build careers in this industry. Proud to state that many of them are at present performing at popular venues in Sri Lanka and Overseas.
1st Assignment as a Professional
Started my career down south of Sri Lanka at Reverina Beach Hotel, Beruwala. Being involved in setting up one of the most talked about Discotheques down south which featured one of the finest sounds & lighting systems during the commencement of the hotel. A short stint at this discotheque brought me heaps of confidence playing music to mixed foreign clients.
Mobile/Club (1984-1992)
With my experience down south, I started performing in Colombo at various Private functions, Discos etc. Then on request of a cousin of mine I got involved in performing for K3 as frontline member which became one of the most recognized Dj outfits in Sri Lanka in the 1980’s. In 1988 & 1991 we were contracted to perform at the Mount Royal Beach Hotel’s, Peacock Night Club. From 1989 to 1991 we performed at the Little Hut, at the Mount Lavinia Hotel.
After 1995
Thereafter I pursued a career as a Licensed Auctioneer at D.W. Kelaart Auction Rooms, till in 1995 when I purchased the entire collection of vinyl and sound equipment from K3 and later on GOOD GROOVE was born. The name GOOD GROOVE was selected from a song made popular by a rap artist called ERIC B.

I am proud to have been the 1st Dj to have performed at Meedhupparu Island Resort, now known as ADAARAN SELECT MEEDHUPPARU, Maldives from the Year 2000 to 2007 and the 1st Dj to have performed at Club Rannalhi, now known as ADAARAN CLUB RANNALHI, Maldives from the Year 2003 to 2008, BELOW ZERO at Royal Palms Beach Hotel Kalutara, THE BLUE WAVE at Blue Water Wadduwa,
THE LIBRARY at the Trans Asia Hotel Colombo.
